JoBlo breaks down the trailer for the fifth Killer Tomatoes film and its AI-versus-nature premise.

JoBlo July 27, 2026 3 min read

JoBlo summed the film up in a line that has followed it around ever since: classic B-movie insanity crossed with tech satire.

The write-up covers the trailer’s Comic-Con premiere, the return of John Astin as Professor Gangreen, and the new ensemble led by David Koechner, Eric Roberts, Dan Bakkedahl and Catherine Corcoran, with David Ferino directing from a script by franchise co-creators Costa Dillon and J. Stephen Peace.

The film opens in select theaters on August 7, 2026 through Anchor Bay Entertainment.
